Even if I could put supports up high enough on the furthest four corners of my lot (and I don’t think I could), the entire perimeter of the lot does not amount to 160 meters, so there isn’t room for a full wave horizontal loop.
If I simply used the furthest-out trees that are tall enough to not be totally useless (they’re 20-30′ each), here’s what we get…
I’m beginning to wish I’d gotten back into ham radio before we decided to move. I might’ve decided it was more important to have an acre or more of land (preferably wooded), than some of the other factors/features which were on our list.
But – maybe there’s a loading-coil thing that could be added to a 100-meter-ish loop that would still work OK.

I should model this hour-glass-shaped loop. This would allow me to get 160m of wire up. I wonder how that would behave.
